Duration and Procedure of Blepharoplasty Surgery
This delicate surgery takes about one to two hours depending on the type of surgery. Treatment is performed without anesthesia and under anesthesia.

- 24-hour rest after treatment is required.

- Usually, the eye opens slightly harder in the first 48 hours after surgery, which is normal and gradually returns to normal.
- Ice compresses are required immediately after surgery and for the first 24 hours. Apply the ice pack slowly and without pressure on the surgical site. Leave the compress for about 20 minutes, rest and take a quarter and then continue the process again until late at night.
- Avoid stretching and sensory movements on your face when laughing and talking.
- Avoid doing things that keep your head down in the early days.
- In the early days, avoid constantly looking at your laptop, TV, mobile screen, etc.
- Careful use of medications and creams and ointments prescribed by the surgeon is required.
- Drink plenty of fluids in the first two or three days.
- Exercise is not prohibited from the third day, but any heavy exercise is prohibited for up to two months.
- Sensitivity to light and tears in the early days after surgery are normal, but if it lasts longer than two days, consult your surgeon.
- The sutures should be removed about 3 to 5 days after surgery.
- About two weeks to a month after blepharoplasty you won't be able to wear contact lenses.
- Scratching the skin around the eyes is normal for up to a week. It is best to use the prescribed ointments and creams carefully.
- In the early days when the eyelid is swollen, the process of eyelid improvement may differ, so there may be a lack of coordination or symmetry between the eyes and eyebrows due to swelling, which is normal and after a week or two it gradually returns to normal.
- Anesthesia or gazing of the surgical site is normal for up to 72 hours sometimes up to two weeks.
- Sleep open. Rest and sleep with pillows under your head and lie on your back, your head above your neck.
